Saw LB and Recruits out tonightAt Al Biernats Tonight. Table of about 20. Few players, few coaches, and their parents. Tony Romo was at another table and came over to say Hi. Posed for a few pictures with the recruits. After dinner the recruits and players left (Shawn too). LB stayed behind with the coaches and recruits parents and talked. LB was holding court talking to the parents. Really couldn't have been more excited. While I wanted to go thank them, I thought maybe I should hold back after the amount of Old Fashions I had had…..I wasn't closing any deals tonight. Anyway, loved seeing the staff in action. Can't wait!
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightNice, thank you for the report.
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightTony Romo being there is a sheer coincidence right? Don't want the NCAA to be investigating us for tampering.

Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightThat's awesome. Thanks for the report! Commit, Admon, commit!

Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonight
No kidding! Not liking OSU's momentum. Pony up!
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightNow that's a recruiting evening. Well done and thanks for that report!
Yep, we really could use a strong commit from Gilder. Let's re-start the momentum. I liked his game in the couple times I saw him play. He played unselfishly, picked his spots effectively. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightI keep reading about SMU's lack of momentum on the trail, and that perception confuses me. Losing EMan to the league stunk, but what else has happened, other than adding Emelogu and Barefield, while redshirting Tolbert. We haven't missed on anyone we led for. We have a ton of visits coming up, or going on currently. We all want Admon, but nobody mentions that the backcourt of SMU is set w/Barefield and Emelogu for forseeable future.
We need to wow Blackshear which means avoid that football debacle
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightWould have liked to have had Davis but getting Thomas, Gilder, and Blackshear would be nice if they can do it.

Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightThanks for the report...good to see SMU guys at Al's place! Do they still have Texas A & M grads working in the kitchen on the Hobart dishwasher?
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonight
Sounds just like a quick throwaway line if you barely glance at SMU's recruiting and don't want to look deeper at what is going on. The only challenge I can see to SMU recruiting is the depth on the current team with transfers, and knowing SMU is an attractive destination for transfers (especially players native to DFW), causing hesitation for recruits that are not willing to fight for time on the court.
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightGotta think we'll get a ruling on Ben next week.

Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonight
We are a bunch of dummies that aren't close to any information and freak out easily
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightYep, never mind, getting a solid commit from a top high school recruit in the area wouldn't be that welcome for Smu hoops, really.
Silly Me! Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Saw LB and Recruits out tonightDon't think that embarrassing losses in football on national /regional TV don't have some affect on basketball commitments to SMU. Its tough to tell others that you are going to the lowest of the low in football to play sports.
