I'm not trying to be a smartass (at least not much) but this kind of irritated me. Verwers took an unofficial visit here back in August, and the recruiting databases kept SMU on his list, even though he told our coaches he wasnt interested and he wasnt going to take an official visit with us. For weeks now I've been telling people to forget it and move on, and they kept waving this list of schools at me and insisting we still had a chance. The guys interest was never more than mild, and he's getting offers from some of the major basketball powers. We were never really in the picture. It irritates me that some people act like the recruiting rags are the electronic equivalent of Stone Tablets, when their information is often old or inaccurate. Look at Richuel Massey, none of the recruiting sites mentioned he had any interest in SMU, until the day after he committed.
We may be close to a commitment from a guard from out of state who visited very recently. Also pursuing a foriegn post player who's going to a prep school in the US this fall. Hoping that he will take a visit with us before the early signing period next month.

PX,
Thanks for your nice reply. I think we are all a little edgy right now! I am aware of the two you are talking about and I assume you are aware of the other two also.

He's a recruit, big post player from Weatherford. He looked at us for a little while, but he's getting scholarship offers from places like Kansas and Arizona now. He'll wind up at one of the top-20 programs.

Verwers apparently committed to Colorado State. Thats a bit of a surprise. I thought he wanted to stay closer to home.

Thats not what I said. I said I wasnt trying to be one. Didnt say that I was trying to avoid being one. Its a matter of intention. I dont mean to be a smart [deleted], it just sort of works out that way.
