If SMU gets Vick

Postby Rebel10 » Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:45 pm

If SMU gets LeGerad Vick it cold be a sign that LB might be going to more of a full courting pressing type defense for 48 minutes with all those guards. Kind of VCU and Arkansas style. Shaka Smart does not recruit a lot of bigs but is guard heavy in his recruiting. And Shaka was on campus for a coaching clinic.

This was an area that upset me about last years team. To deliberate when we had horses to dictate uptempo contests. We are long on long and don't press nearly enough. Moreira may be the best running big in America and Ben Moore is right there, but we don't push it. We grind far too much and don't generate enough easy buckets off tempo

Do you think it will change? Was it due to so many new faces?

SMU could also redshirt a couple of guards next year with so many and spread out the years so there will not be so much recruit pressure to get guards in one year.

Assisstant from Western Kentucky watched LaGerald Vick today, but I'd keep my eye on SMU in this one. Larry Brown & assistant watching also.

Yep, and if you have the better players/coach/team them you should want more possessions.

So LB was at a high school practice in Memphis today. Whoa. That's impressive.
