SMU has a real opportunity to establish itself as a legitimate basketball program this season. Starting the year in the Top 25 with several high profile matchups both at home and on the road. Win and continue to make Moody a house of horrors for opponents and we'll start to come out on top of these recruiting battles.

Making the tournament this year would help. Still not sure if it would override handles etc.

I guess the Aggies got whoever they wanted.

Seems like this might be valid. I have no proof of this but some of the AAU coaches give me the Cam Newton's dad vibe

A game-day atmosphere is literally #308 on reasons to choose a school. I can say that with a LOT of certainty. You don't choose a school because of the atmosphere, if you do, you're the one transferring after a year. You choose it because of coaches, style, depth chart, academics, location, ect. There's so much more important things in choosing a school then a single game atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it helps, but it's something that helps reinforce a school, not make or break a reason for going there.

I still think we have a chance to get Elijah or another aggie recruit if a&m has a bad season, or the crowds are small, etc. Seems like a&m is the trendy pick right now for recruits in texas, but that can change really quickly once games start being played

I nominate this as one of the top 5 stupidest threads of the year.

I guarantee the Moody atmosphere helped win some games this past season. It has also helped lose some in years past.

That would definitely mean a top 25 finish.

They sign the letter of intent in November before the season starts. So no changing the mind after that.

We were number 14 in 2013. Let's see if we can beat that. I think we have a chance.
