Huge game tonight

Postby Nacho » Wed Dec 11, 2002 4:00 pm

KU visits Tulsa. A victory by #19 Tulsa would give WAC basketball some needed national exposure and would move them closer to a top 10 ranking. I like Tulsa in this one since it is on their home court. BTW nice job by NTSU last night. Any team that lets Merriex score 20 deserves to lose. NTSU is now undisputed cellar dwellers of the metroplex. Congrats to the Mean Green.

I agree, a Tulsa win would be great for the WAC. Wish Kansas wasn't on a 3-game losing streak, but regardless, it's still Kansas. The way Tulsa is playing, a win tonight would go a long way toward them receiving an at-large berth, meaning the WAC could receive 2 or 3 bids to the tourney come March.

Now if one of those 2 or 3 could just be the Ponies....

Kansas 89 Tulsa 80. Oh well, it's still early, right? You're right, though. Until the WAC starts winning these games, we won't be closing the gap on the major conferences or getting past the 1st round of the NCAA tourney.

Would have been nice to see TU beat KU for WAC's sake. I guess they'll drop to 20 or possibly only in the Top 25.

They really didn't shoot the ball that poorly (Tulsa). Looks like they had a few more turnovers and a few less rebounds. We are really going to be hurting when they come in to town. They are a solid team and shoot well from the perimeter.
