I want to know what is going on as well. there were special rule restrictions for the NIT with court lighting and playing music and it seems like we are following those rules instead of doing what we did over the course of last year.

The crowd last night was late arriving because of traffic, but the DJ didn't try to get them jazzed up. Instead, the crowd had to bring itself to life with 10 minutes left in the game.

Can anyone answer if we are using the same DJ?

Last season was magical. I still get chills when I hear "I'm coming home." I've experienced a lot big sporting events but that NIT run was near the top for me.

Those home games in the NIT were priceless and the final home game against Cal was unbelievable.

SID, really don't mean to be negative, but the comments above are spot on. If I had to bet money the AD is responding to concerns from our more senior crowd (read bigger donors) who wanted a more "traditional" presentation. If not, well, you really screwed up a good thing. My 9 year asked me at the game tonight "why are the games so much more boring than last year". I didn't have a good response for him.

I'm tired of being negative about SMU. I'm just numb and confused. You are exactly right. It took a conscious effort to mess this up. I am just sad and disappointed. As entitled as this sounds, we deserve better.

Does anyone know who the DJ is this year or what the promotion company is? I'd like to speak with them directly and find out what they are being instructed to do.
