I open the sports page this a.m. and see SMU favored over Baylor by 3 pts. Was Vegas paying attention earlier this week, or does the home court mean that much?

I think the bookies are having too many cocktails for the holidays.

That is very surprising. Perhaps Bryan really is closer to 100%??? You wouldnt believe what those people in Vegas know.

Bryan practiced yesterday. He still has some tightness in that same area, but once he warmed up he looked much better than he did 2 weeks ago. In terms of the injury, he'll have another layoff for Christmas, and it should be as close to healed as its going to get this season. In terms of cardiovascular condition, though, he wont be in 100% game shape this year, ever. Its too late now, we're too far into the season, and once the conference grind begins no one gets in better shape, they break down.

I'm not that surprised by the point spread. Baylor has a good record, but they have just barely squeaked past some weak teams. Losing to TCU on their homecourt did not look good. Baylor has good personnel on paper, but they havent gelled as a team yet.
At the same time, both our home opponents have gotten into deep foul trouble early on. If that happens again I would think we would legitimately be favored.

just checked the cbssportsline rpi for SMU and Baylor. This might surprise. SMU at #76 and Baylor at #150. Baylor's strength of schedule at #318 really brings them down. Meanwhile, App St ranked #70, TCU #129 and UNT at #74. Our strength of schedule at this point is #8. The key to that number is having played Wake (#12) and TTech (#62) and having played cbs' higher ranked teams on the road. Oh well...so much for trivia. Let's get on with the game.
