Barefield aginst Jeter and Zimmerman

Postby stein000012 » Sat Dec 20, 2014 2:52 pm

I'm heading to see Barefield play this afternoon against Bishop Gorman and their 2 stud big men Chase Jeter and Zimmerman. Will let the board know how Sedrick plays.

Gorman 26- 25 @half
Sedrick with 12 at half. Great shooting. 2-3 from 3 point range. Not super quick but great handle and control. Best player on floor.
Met his mom. Very nice woman and pretty.
Zimmerman for Gorman is amazing. 7 footer playing PG. Had an amazing dunk over 3.

Update more later.

Gorman won 71-51. Absolutely dominated 2nd half.

Lot of big time college players on Gorman. 3 7 footers in Zimmerman, Jeter and Zach Collins.Zimmerman was best player on the court by far. 7 footer with handle that plays big and can also shoot 3's. Was way way better than Jeter tonight who is going to Duke. Collins is a beast down low. Not sure if he is highly recruited as a junior but he also impressed me more than Jeter. Gary Payton's son who is a sophomore is super quick with great handle. He will be great in 2 years.

Barefield struggled in 2nd half along with his whole team. Their team was overmatched inside and relied on a lot of 3 point shooting. Overall, I was impressed with his game. Not super quick but smart and gritty. Excellent court awareness and instincts. Not a ball hog either. Shared the ball a lot with his shooters who were off. Also has a good strong body. He has an array of moves around the rim and a super 3 point stroke. He reminds me of a bigger better Stephen woods from 15years ago. Very good player. Best guard in the game by far. Not a game changer in college like a Mudiay would have been but a super addition for SMU. Also, his mom seemed stoked I introduced myself after I thanked them for going to SMU. She they watched the Michigan game this morning and Sedrick was really excited. Very nice woman.

Great report. He seems like the kind of player that will fit right in. Thanks.
