Hartford Hotel for Conference tourney

Postby sadderbudweiser » Sun Jan 18, 2015 2:17 pm

Well…I'm blowing off SXSW for the tourney. Who wouldn't want to spend a weekend in Hartford in March anyway?

Does anybody have any 411 or thoughts on where to stay?

Anybody know the team's hotel?

Anybody made reservations?

Anybody care or are you busy running down today's rumor(s)?

Thanks in advance!

i know we are trying to spread the love all around our conference, but how is Hartford even an option.? It is like saying we are going to do it in Galveston - even farther then the furthest member in that direction. THe city is not very fun - not sure what anyone will do there.

That said i will try to figure out a way to be there. We have a very good shot at taking the tournament if we can stay healthy.

They built a new Marriott next to the convention center a few years ago, probably your best option

The sponsoring hotel is the Hilton Hartford.

Thanks…as I can see only 3-4 actual "hotels" in Hartford I guess you've pretty much covered it.

Bumping this thread…

I booked at the Hilton Hartford through Travelocity where a non-cancellable room was only $104 per night. You can buy the right to cancel for an additional 35$ per night.

I could not book through the Hilton's website…it said no rooms were available for that weekend. Must all be blocked for the tourney.

Can I fly out of Love to get there? Never had any pressing reason to hit Hartford.

Not sure. Their airport is a pretty good ways north of Hartford. I know it's a hassle for me to get from Love to Long Island. Alternatives include Providence, Boston and NYC. If i was coming feom a distance I'd try to schedule some time in NYC or Boston as Hartford doesn't have much going for it.

Amtrak NYC Penn Station to Hartford. $32 one way.

Doctor Budweiser endorses this method.

I'm gonna cancel my room and skip conference tourney after recalling last year's debacle. Saving up for a 'bigger' trip later in March.
