Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekSounds about right.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekWe need that Tulsa number to creep higher.
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this Week
Technically in a tie for 28th with Ohio state.
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekI think there are arguments for us to be anywhere between 20 to 30. there are some questionble teams in that range that are ranked. But we're judged based on the teams we played not the circumsntances, and we lost to IU and Arkansas, but no one takes into account we weren't at full streghth. At full strenght, MK is worth more than the 6-pt difference in those loses, IMO.
Our RPI will go further down by next monday given the 2 teams we're playing so unless the teams 15-20 drop to leave room for us to move up, we won't be ranked until we beat Tulsa and Cincy.

Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekSo 28/30 this week confirms my thinking that if we take care of business, we will be ranked in one week. RPI has nothing to do with rankings so while it may be going in the wrong direction thanks to our opponents, we will still pick up more votes in the polls. RPI matters for tournament seeding, but not much else.
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this Week
Isn't that all that matters? Is getting a seed?
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekThe current thread is about rankings, so rpi does not matter in this case. To your point, last season we had an NCAA worthy rpi and did not get in. RPI will not get you into the field, it merely helps determine seeding.
Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this WeekLooking at next weeks AP, at least 2 or three team look to drop out:
TX - Baylor or both, they each have one loss this week and face each other G-Town has already lost OK goes to OK state and will drop out with a loss Of those above us (or tied) receiving votes: CSU has already lost Arkansas has won and should win again this week, they will be in Ohio state is a probable loser to Maryland With at least two of the current top 25 dropping out it looks like we move in if we take care of business. Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

Re: Top 25 Teams Losing this Week20, 21, 22 & 23 have all lost to unranked teams this week. 19 UT lost a close game to 15 Iowa St so they may stay ranked but the other four should drop out. Also, Colorado St ranked 26 lost. If we take care of business Saturday we should be ranked somewhere around 22-24 next Monday.
