Vitale praises Dement

Not a huge deal, but Dicky V just mentioned Dement during the Texas-Kansas game on ESPN. Called him one of his "unsung heroes of last week" (along with the coach of Manhattan) for the road wins over Rice and Tulsa. Not sure how that makes him a national unsung hero, but any positive mention is good, right?

S-M-U spells SMU!!!

Right - any pub is good pub, especially on a national broadcast of a game like Texas/Kansas, that had tons of viewers, including in this area. Nice plug by [deleted].

And nice to see the horns lose.

If you remember though, Dickie V also berated SMU for firing Shumate...

That's true, and that just underscores Pony_Fan's point that Vitale is a "goofy idiot" (to say the least - did you see him applaud a player last night? What a professional journalist...)

Nonetheless, all pub is better than bad pub. It certainly can't hurt to have ESPN's top hoops mouthpiece slobbering about our coach.
