And the crowd is late, they're not always there unless the game is big, and LB has been vocal in his disappointment with the fanbase.

The crowd is only late on those early weekday starts, which are few. I live close leave the house early and even the campus traffic not to mention Dallas is a nightmare with leaving to be at the game early- those games still always fill right after start. Not ideal, but neither is the start time when people work and have class. Larry is not disaapointed in the fans either- he has expressed his appreciation and excitement more than once and our numbers continue to grow! He also recently stated that he would continue to coach as long as he felt he was contributing and able to teach the kids.

The early starts were worse but pretty much across the board the crowd was late, and for a sold out arena there were a lot of empty seats. Demand is not nearly what they think it is as is shown by the difficulty selling tickets in the secondary market for non-big name opposition. We had next to no crowd at the conference tourney. Larry has clearly worked out the extent to which we are a fair weather fanbase. He says all the "right things" too but he has made it clear that our crowd does not match those of the big programs.

I think the truth is somewhere in between. I've definitely never been under the impression that Larry has been "pleased" though with the fan support given his interviews. It feels more like it's been adequate then what he has wanted. Just my two cents.

Either way, it's 10X better than pre-Larry. Will be interesting to see what kind of drop-off there is when he is gone. Pretty sure quite a few members on this board will still be there haha.

I will be pleasantly surprised if he is still here in the fall, but I would be even more surprised if he is here in 2016.

He just upgraded to a bigger place. He isn't going anywhere for now.

Yeah Moody is an out of body experience. Even against low level opponents the crowd is there and pumped. I can't be more pleased with the environment and team effort.
Just go to any other Texas school - including Baylor ( which has a good team and no entertainment competition) and the crowds are lackluster except for big games. UT is a morgue except for the KU game- Just shows you the draw of state U.

I have enjoyed the good times greatly. But I come from a different tradition of fandom and frankly I think i must have a higher standard for live sports. We are getting better fast but I can't avoid the reality that when Larry goes all this will quickly follow.

If you think the moody atmosphere is top notch for the minor games is have to disagree. And so would Larry and the players.

I'm not worried about reaffirming your position. But thanks for the heads up.
