Are we still a GO for this weekend's visit? Any new info on what JW3 is thinking? #anxious #optimistic

Supposedly his visit is still on for this weekend.

One recent development that may not work in our favor is Caleb Swanigan decommitting from Michigan State. MSU offered Williams out of high school and he is scheduled to visit them later on I think. With Swanigan committed, MSU had two blue-chip bigs committed for this season, and I thought that might have swayed Williams away since the appeal of immediate playing time wouldn't be as strong at MSU, but with Swanigan gone that may not be the case.

I was already nervous when I read this from an article a few days ago:

"It has been rumored that the Spartans will have at least one player transfer out of the program this offseason in order to find more playing time somewhere else. That would open up a scholarship for Williams III, ultimately the news he might be waiting for."

Then when it was posted earlier this eve bout CS...

Will just be optimistic that he will be WOWed this weekend by ALL LB/our program AND SMU has to offer!

MSU is far away and very very cold.

I still like our chances. He is next in line to receive the FOE torch from MK.

Missouri transfer Jonathan Williams III told @CBSSports he'll visit SMU this weekend. Visits Georgetown next weekend. Gonzaga also in mix.

I hope he likes rain. I'm sure the staff will roll out the red carpet.

SMU is stunning regardless of the weather.

Also, we have Larry Brown.

Georgetown is the DC version of SMU with more hoops history. Too bad he didn't visit DC last winter, it was pretty long and pretty cold here. Hopefully, he'll visit on one of our hot and muggy May days so that he decides its too muggy here. Also right now the pollen count is off the charts (but will subside in a week or so). The worst spring for pollen in years And DC because we've gotten plant donations from every country in the world, has pollens that everyone reacts to.

I bet he never makes the trip to D.C.

If it comes down to SMU and Georgetown then you have to sell him on the Larry Brown experience. While Georgetown is miles ahead of SMU in hoops tradition, is JT III even in the same stratosphere as Larry Brown?

Tradition is very over-rated. I think our trajectory is better than Georgetown's from here on out.
