2015-16 Ponys are DEEP

Postby sadderbudweiser » Sat May 09, 2015 6:21 am

Three deep at point

Four deep under.

Then add Sterling, Semi, Emelogou and perhaps Keith holding down everything between.

Yes, we lack a true shot-bloker ( goaltender).

But damn, we are deep. I generally worry more about injuries and academic ineligibilities than who gets enough minutes.

For now Nic is still indispensible. After that we're good.

Let's hope this crew can stick a few from the suburbs.

The biggest difference this year should be that we have multiple threats from outside. Last year it was only Nic and occasionally KF.

Don't forget about J Foster. He is an unknown but I am hopeful. Of our incoming class who is a legit 3 threat?

Does anyone know when we may expect to hear from the NCAA about Frazier?

Sed and Shake. Sed perhaps moreso than Shake. I think Shake got a lot of his buckets driving (and shooting tons of free throws by getting fouled as a result), but they both can drive, dish, and shoot. It's all connected to get a good open look which they both can knock down relatively consistently. On the next level? Who knows, but that's what we got coming in.

I like when it brings it up, gives it up, pic and pop. He'll be able to give it up to someone who can actually dribble, cut, and pop also which gives us more options and other teams more to defend. Ultimately, MK delivers down low when all their other players scramble and pop out and defend the roll . . . or they sag and Nic buries a dagger in their arse. Either way, pick your poison and watch yourselves get run out of the gym! :-)

Two of Nic, shake, and sed will be on the court at all times next year. LB wants two ball handlers so we don't get stuck with our typical and awful droughts without Nic. Hope S&S can play some D. We'll have some growing pains, but I think this will be a fun year.

By March we will be better than this past year's team. Guard play wins out and we should have lots of it come conference play and beyond.
