Blowing Lead..

I think the turning point was the steal by Lowe and his pass to Swanson or Parker who hit the 3 to bring it w/in reach rather than up by 8.

Overall, it looks as if we pretty much got what we wanted except our guards are still not getting out to defend on the 3 point shot. Hopkins box looked much better even though he still only hit 25%, it appears that he took care of the ball and played the point well on offense. Simpson had an outstanding game and Castro played well except he had a poor shooting night. This is much better than the efforts on the road last week. Can anyone who actually saw the game comment on the intensity and wheter Dement taking them to the woodshed worked as far as loose ball hustle etc?

That pass by Lowe that Swanson picked off was horrible. A low pass across the court coming out of the defensive end? Don't they teach you not to make that pass when you're about 8 years old? Either go up the side of the court, or get the ball up in the air! If you overthrow your man, at least the other team has to work the ball down the court. Swanson picked that off and nailed the 3 too easily. (Of course, to his credit, I think he did lead the nation in 3-point shooting last year, so it's not like it was a fluke or anything.)

But that pass was inexcusable.

In Lowe's defense, while that pass was ugly, he also showed better energy than he has in a while and shot the ball. And how about that play in the first half when he sailed down the lane, grabbed a rebound behind/over his head and got the put-back?
