Not very impressive. Only one road game with two power matchup - Oklahoma and Ohio St.

Weak...

They need to watch out for the NJIT (the team that beat MI in Ann Arbor last year just before we went up there.

Up and coming team with a weak OOC playing in the AAC.

Sounds like SMU 13/14 version 2.0 Warm up the NIT bus.

Looks like they also play a few other decent teams as well in non conference.

Below is what I know about SMU OOC. Bottom line vs. Memphis OOC -- thus far only one sub-200 opponent vs. their five. The top five or six teams each are a wash, though SMU has the higher ranked teams in the Zags and Stanford. I'm withholding judgement until I see final SMU schedule, but I anticipate others won't be so reluctant.

Yale (66)
Brown (248)
TCU (136)
Michigan (79)
Colorado (118) / Penn State (109) /Kent State (85) (some combination as part of tourney)
Gonzaga (8)
Stanford (34)

no need to wait. The Memphis schedule is awful and they should be embarrassed.

Looks like they play 3 top 50 teams and we play 2. As far as top 100 goes they have 5 and we have 4 if we don't play Kent State.

Memphis has enough talent that the OOC schedule strength won't bother them as much as it did SMU. They have track record, and everyone knows if they surround Nichols and Shaq with some good guard play they will be really, really good.

UConn, Temple, Cincy, and Houston will all be improved, but SMU and Memphis are the schools that have a chance to be elite teams if the incoming guards play really well.

Hopefully Memphis will be top 50 - since we get them twice. They will benefit from playing us...

Is our OOC schedule that much different than the Memphis OOC schedule as far as top teams go? They play more top 100 teams than we do if we do not play Kent State. I am going to hold off on criticizing their schedule until I see our complete schedule.
