The NBA draft is tomorrow, SMU and LB will brought up constantly over the next few days with every Eman mention and story.

“@NBA: Just who is @emmanuelmudiay, who was born in the Congo, grew up in Dallas, & played in China? http://on.nba.com/1NaIOhR http://twitter.com/NBA/status/613708587 ... 70/photo/1”

If he had gotten hurt at SMU like he did in China, yes. In China he had a million dollars to fall back on even after being hurt, if he gets hurt at SMU all he has is a bunch of whining fans saying oh well that is just how it goes. If he had not gotten hurt in China he would have still been a top 3 pick. 7th is still very good money. I think he will be just fine.

Not true-he could have been insured for far more than a Million under NCAA rules

according to this article SMU could have paid the premiums on up to a 5 Million Dollar policy as long as Mudiay projected to a First Round Draft choice which he did

$90,000 deductible. Anyway, the injury was not career ending. So my point still stands. He would have still dropped in the draft had he gotten a non career ending injury at SMU and not gotten 1.2 guaranteed like he did in China. And he did not have to worry about qualifying in class to play or recruiting violations. Like I said he will be just fine.
