So far so good at El Paso

We seem to be doing well with a 10 point lead at half. I am not sure if it is because we are playing well or UTEP is just that sorry. It sounds as if our defense is doing well.

Either way, a win now will go a long way in the Wacky Wac. At least we will be assured over 500 if we can hold on.

Sure is nice to get an easy win. Gotta feel bad for UTEP. How far they've fallen since the Haskins years. We had a chance to have 6 guys score in double figures tonight. And now, a week to rest before finishing with a wounded La Tech team.

We get a week off after a successful road trip. UTEP isn't the powerhouse it once was; however, winning on the road with this team (that at times has let down) is a boast.

In addition, we are not doing our traditional end of the season collapse.

The team is playing defense and gelling as a team. The bench has picked it up and who knows, we beat LaTech and make a run in the WAC tourney, we might get to the NIT.

Gotta deal with reality. The only way this SMU team sees the post season is by winning the WAC Tourney. Just might be one of those years when it could actually happen, although we haven't shown we can beat Fresno yet. Would be nice to beat Rice in a 4 vs 5 game and then get Fresno for the chance to advance against either Tulsa or Nevada. That's how I see our path. Would be a tremendous accomplishment for these guys if they could pull it off.
