Re: Time To Start The Guerilla Warjust keep it simple.
Free Larry
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War
Agreed
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarI like "Free Larry" personally, but given the image of SMU that's currently out there—that photo that's been floating around since the Baylor game probably isn't doing us any favors in the court of public opinion right now—I'm not sure it's quite enough. If we're trying to win a PR war, I think we have to try to change the false narrative of "spoiled rich kids can't handle being punished for cheating." I'm not sure "Free Larry" does that.
But none of the people who are beating the "SMU's such a dirty school" drum really explain what the violation was... probably because it hurts their preferred version of the story. And when I explain what actually happened to people who don't know the whole story, they generally realize how ridiculous this really is. I know it's gotta be simple, but the truth is on our side here. We have to get it out there. It's a lot easier for the NCAA to spew its BS than it is to explain why they're wrong, and I don't think we can sway people without changing that narrative. "...and right to the end we'll stand..."
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War
Exactly the issue. Even people who SHOULD be informed and understand the story don't (looking at the Ticket on this one). Has anyone considered writing an extensive Op-Ed? I have one in progress actually
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War"NCAA punish us after you punish, UNC, Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, Mississippi State, Miami, and Maryland."
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War
This is my biggest issue. Forde and DicV did no investigative reporting yet their voices are heard more. They did no due dilligence and the general public follows. How about an extensive report on the past LB transgressions and a look at SMU compliance after the death penalty
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarFREE
LARRY B a la free pimp c
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarHonestly this is a horrible idea. Don't make SMU look worse by whining about it. Turner made a good statement and an appeal is all the publicity we need
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarI think it is fine as long as Hart and Turner are not holding the signs
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War
I like National Corrupt Rassroll Association which I came up with while reading the Daily Campus at lunch in the Umphrey Lee student center cafeteria in Spring of 1976 Some coach was paying a dollar or 2 to players coming up with a big tackle on punt returns, and we got hammered by the ncaa:!: Rumors had been swirling in east TX for a couple of years about the perks coming to the Campbell family T May the forth be with us.
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarStatler had his sign up.... Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla WarHey Dutch. Your picture of Statler is, like, 6 years old. Why would he have a sign about Larry Brown back then? The real question, though, is why have you kept Staler's picture for so long?
Everything we want is on the other side of difficult.
Re: Time To Start The Guerilla War
