Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredTalks about why he never considered firing LB and some other tidbits but here is the UNC swipe
You should still read the whole article. RGT makes some good points. "For SMU, though, he said the injury from basketball penalties could be severe – and it made him wonder what other schools currently in the NCAA's investigative cross-hairs might end up facing. "When you look at three scholarships for three years in basketball for one violation, what's going to be done for people who have years and multiple violations?" Turner said. "I mean, we've had the death penalty. This isn't the death penalty, but it certainly slows you down when you're a private school and you can't have walk-ons. I mean, we just don't get walk-ons when your tuition is $42,000. "But what is going to happen to those schools that we all know are in the mix? I imagine they're shaking in their boots if we get penalized three over three years for a violation that had nothing to do with college work or college faculty or anything like that. (SMU's wrongdoing) is still egregious, but you know what I mean. It's a single incident." Last edited by ponydawg on Tue Sep 29, 2015 8:38 pm, edited 1 time in total.

All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredSay what you want- RGT could have washed his hands of all this, fired LB, and left the bball program for dead. But he's going to bat for Larry, Keith, and the program

I like it. Clear this up for me if you can...was the course in question that this all goes back to, was it taken while he was still in HS or over the summer before his freshman year? If so...then this gets even crazier.
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scared
Exactly so people need to back the [deleted] off who he said he doesn't care
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredI think Turner did an excellent job with this article. He acknowledges fault that happen under Browns supervision but hammers the NCAA for these ridiculous sanctions. It's similar to our justice system. How in the hell does this little mishap get grossed up compare to NCAA backing down on the sanctions against Perv state. It has to be embarrassing to be part of that morally bankrupt institution.
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredVery proud of RGT on this one
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredGuys, this decision blew everyone away today. Two press releases were prepared and nothing was ready for what the NCAA dropped on us
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scared
So do we have a chance or are we just reaching for hope
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredI have personally seen RGT in lengthy friendly conversations one on one with Keith. He and Larry really do care for him and want him to succeed in life. I think this one is a bit personalized.
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredI like that RGT stood up. I do think that he is incredibly naive to think that UNC is going to get proportionally similar penalties based on their crimes. They are the bluest of blue bloods. The NCAA doesn't materially harm their blue bloods.

Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scared
I think that was part of his point.
Re: USA today: RGT calls out (implies) UNC should be scaredAnyone who has bitched about RGT and his commitment to athletics has to have their mind changed after reading this. This is exactly the response you want from a president in this situation.
