Did LB talk to SMU compliance or the NCAA?

I just read a post on another board that LB spoke to SMU compliance with he had step out of the room and corrected his statement regarding if he knew about the situation. If so why would our own compliance department throw LB under the bus? Why didn't they just report the corrected statement and not imply that he lied?

It was NCAA's discussion where he corrected himself.

I think the NCAA report implied he lied, not our compliance department.

From what the poster, who has inside contacts, said it seems like the NCAA was taking the report from our compliance department.

Here is the quote.

"Do you really believe that any other university, especially the "Bigs" would have allowed the internal enforcement staff to even mention that a head coach initially denied the allegations, or would they simply sanitize the report? Got to be impressed, our own enforcement staff is better than the GDR's Staci. Of course it helps that we bookend athletic monitoring by having a husband and wife team on the front door and back door."

I believe there were two separate events, the first with compliance, the second when he quickly corrected himself in front of the NCAA. But, read the NCAA report, I am still so angry there is a good possibility that I'm incorrect.

The Report clearly states with regard to all these "interviews" that they were conducted by the NCAA enforcement staff. They are basically depositions used to discover evidence that can be offered/ admitted at the hearing. Silly argument.
