Student reaction - they still love Larry

Read the whole thing, but here are some parts.

Hours after the NCAA announced a postseason ban for the Southern Methodist University men’s basketball team and a nine-game suspension for head coach Larry Brown on Tuesday morning, a hastily painted white sheet hung from the porch of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity house bearing the phrase “Free Larry.”
The brothers who put up the sign declined to comment.
“It pretty much speaks for itself,” one said.
And in many ways it spoke for much of the student body at the University Park campus.
Unfair. Depressing. Ridiculous, they lamented.

..

Despite the disappointment and anger directed at the NCAA, students had plenty of warm feelings for Brown, who’s brought a renewed energy and hope for success to campus since being hired in 2012.
“He’s a great coach,” said sophomore Caroline Moss, who remembers Brown handing out doughnuts to students lined up outside Moody Coliseum. “He loves the school and he loves the students.”

Love the NCAA flag so true. Was talking to my colleague last night who went to 'Cuse and told him that the NCAA seems to be step-in-step with our government and the NFL for that matter.

Too bad I'm not a rich donor otherwise I would go to the frats and ask about their interest in getting some buses to go protest outside the NCAA building while they are still in Irving. It works for liberal causes maybe it would work for us. One can only dream.

It has been over fifty years since I was a student but if there is someday a movement to erect a LB statue, plaque, etc., and if I'm still alive, I will contribute.

Go Ponies!
