Nobody in the media seemed to be giving LB any allowances but it is far more plausible that a lead recruiter such as Maligi whose job it is to close deals could have acted alone, but sorry Louisville, Directors of BBball Ops do not act alone and with discretion on recruiting.

I'm sure Pitino will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the bravery and courage demonstrated in not being Larry Brown. He's a true hero and should be recognized as such.
