If SMU fails to appeal and this year's team wins it's high profile non-conference games and goes on the dominate a very good AAC, the national media will be all over the SMU story as "the season that might have been"

IF we destroy everyone, its not what might have been. Its 30 nights of hammering your opponent. The postseason is awesome, but it's like the conference tourney, a one off. It doesn't define, its just that seasons goal. Being consistently good blows away might have been

The question is can Nic get more exposure at UCLA?

There may be bad recruiters, bad athletic assistants, bad athletes, bad coaches. Surely there is bad beer.
But there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Almost always, we're discussing the season w/o any hopes of postseason. In a good year, a 17-13 record, but I always watch and sweat it. This year, we're gonna steal some souls but have no postseason. That's better than 90% of my SMU cheering experiences. People hung up on one postseason push vs the moving the program forward are being very short-sighted. Its never ever about this year, it's always about program.
