W/us not being able to dance, I'm sorta surprised to see people still pulling for the AAC. I don't need their RPI or SoS, so for one year they can lose to everyone as far as I'm concerned.

I get that perspective, but as long as the tourney selections are made by a committee, we should root for the AAC even this year so that the perception of the league improves year-over-year and maybe we get an extra team into the dance in future years (which might be us depending on how we perform).

That being said, I find it hard to actively root for teams like Cincy or Memphis because its only taken a few years to foster a little hostility between us.

I don't find it hard to root for another AAC when they are playing out of conference. Just makes sense.

Obviously it does nothing for us this season but anything that improves the national reputation of our league helps us moving forward.

Its such a little sisters of the poor mentality, IMO. Not too many P5 fans cheer for their rivals OOC, Take care of your own business, don't rely on chumps to backdoor your way in.

Just win the league and our OOC games and no worries. That's the new standard. We're the effin champs

A lot of SEC teams cheer for other teams in their conference especially in football.

@JonRothstein: Tulsa with a convincing home win over Wichita State. Huge win for both the Golden Hurricane and the AAC. Raises entire profile of league.

So far this week I've seen two teams that could have used Austin Nichols.

The league is still in the earning respect phase and wins by other schools OOC helps IMO. Look at all the positive press and general rise in respect the football AAC has earned this year.

I'm reconsidering my original thoughts, this isn't P5, and we need to build the brand. Beat the Indians!

USF hanging with GW, down 33-30 at the half. GW beat #6 Virginia earlier in the week.
