For the $60MM arena:
Lead anonymous gift of $20M for Center naming rights.
$2M gift for Court Side Club naming rights from Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Jamie Lorch
An ask of $5M for floor naming rights to be answered by EOW.
$4.5M still remain as 'worst case scenario' from student fees pending settlement from TDECU.
$10M to come from Alumni Athletic Center debt services coming off the book 17-18 season and roll into athletic operating budget.
$18M left to be privately raised
Herman's $3M and other asst coach increases is coming from private sources.
TDECU Stadium had a lot of student funding and debt service. Fortunately, the students voted to pay an extra stadium fee in 2011 during Case Keenum's last year.
Doesn't SMU take $18M or so out of its budget to fund athletics each year? Essentially, that comes from tuition and fees, or unrestricted private donations. And, yes, UH has a large annual deficit as well.
yeah I was talking about the Football stadium on a Basketball Forum. If I had to bet that anonymous gift for naming rights will be a telecom company with a synergy agreement for the UH campus like what happened at Texas Tech and North Texas. Donor will get some benefit from the gift with a contract with the UH system
