we lost to about 3 start up programs didn't we. Wasn't there one in Florida that caught a lot of attention a few years later because their head coach had a smokin' hot wife_ don't forget important things like that although I can't remember the name of the team

I truly believe that Doh used to check with the NCAA to find out the newest programs moving to Division 1 and scheduled accordingly. Note that Larry Brown seems to schedule well coached teams that surprise in the NCAA. Wonder if that's planned. Heck last year some of our "push overs" were challenging Top 100 in RPI like Eastern Washington, Texas Southern, Rhode Island, UCSB and there were several others. Those were all quality, well coached teams

Basketball Coliseum lighting can be rough

If you're trying to get into the dance, you have to have RPI to justify getting in (if you don't win the conference) or for seeding. After our snub, the year we beat the eventual champion twice, you can bet Larry looks at teams that will give us some RPI bonus points. We still have to win those games, but having some meat on the schedule, helps in March for seeding and invitations. The NCAA will always find ways to hose us, but if you kick in the door, the hose is a little less obvious except when goal-tending is called on a shot no where near the rim to win the game for the other team.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

It's all about the lighting:

She is a beautiful lady I am sure. Just like any celebrity caught in daily life they can look night and day different. Throw on some makeup, proper fitting clothes, sultry look, a little airbrushing and just about any gal can look foxy. Now if your face is just plain tore up then I got nothing for you.

You are correct. My brain was going with revisionist history. In talking with RH, he has taken a lot of heat for the probation debacle, but truly feels they did the right thing swallowing the tourney penalty this year. He is in step with Jank and LB.

I was at SMU during the Ken Pye years, so any AD seems better than those forgetful days.

Orsini didnt want to hire LB

Orsini had to be ordered to call Brown back. And this was while he was busy turning the coaching search into a widely-recognized and acknowledged national embarrassment. What a sh*t-show that search was.

Between the June Jones search and the Larry Brown search Orsini should've been shown the door as soon as the LB press conference was over.
Back off Warchild seriously.
