If I were to take a guess, I would go with 16 (which is still a good move forward). I think if we knock out the huskies out on Saturday then I could see top 15. It would be great if the two NR clowns finally have us in so we have everyone saying we are top 25 worthy.

Every early ballot has us better than 17. Explain your statement.

I know the question wasn't to me but based on the pollsters last week: looks like over half of them where in 19-NR part of the distribution. For us to get to the top 15 section, I would venture that at least 25% of that group would need to move us up 5 spots which I think is a tall order. I think 16/17 is a moderate assumption.

I would say #17, because i've only seen a handful of early polls so far. And while they have us high my logic is we were #19 this week & of the teams in the 7 spots ahead of us (Cincy, FSU, Purdue, UF, UVA, UK, Duke) only two of them lost (UVA, FSU) so I think alot of the pollers will vote those team that were ahead of us, ahead of us again and we have more people still NR-20ranking us than those teams do. We could sneak up to #16 because maybe some like us better than Cincy or UF, but i'd guess 17.

If you are following this thread than you have to know that half of these voters don't even pay attention. Most may only see final scores.

We beat Tulane by about 5 and Houston by about 10. I would be surprised if even 40% of these posters even knew that we trailed by double digits in either of these games. I don't think that the final score of the Tulane games hurts us at all - it's a W.

Now, the fact that we walked onto the court to even playTulane does hurt us in a number of the statistical rankings.

I'm tired of seeing ballots with Cinci ahead of us. We are better statistically and watching both home games I can't believe a neutral observer would leave with the impression that Cinci is the better team.

Yes we are better head to head but our overall body of work is not as good. They beat Iowa State and Xavier and have one fewer loss.
