If we are going to finish this season with only 7 scholarship players, Shake is going to have to take on a larger load of the scoring. Can't have too many games like USF where he just didn't have his usual feel.

That kid does not look like a freshman! I am comfortable with him taking over the reigns. Then he can mentor Dashawn.

By the Way, Dashawn was giving us so much love on Twitter last night

Houston will try to "run" us, so Shake might have an opportunity to light it up again tonight. Would love to see 5 guys in double figures and SMU scoring more than 80 points in taking the Cougs down.

Shake has disappeared of late...at least as a scorer for this team. He looked tired at times and might be feeling the pressure of this undefeated run. I noticed him short arming a couple of shots last night and hope he is not losing his shooter's confidence. Still makes good decisions with the ball and has that 2:1 assist:turnover ratio which to me is really impressive for a FR. Loved that assist to Markus on that late critical possession. Very unselfish guy who is going to make a lot of noise in this program before he is done. Just want to see him light it up again soon because we need him to replace Keith as the gunner to take some of the perimeter scoring load off of Nic

After Memphis, Shake is now up to 216 points and averaging 10.8 on the season. What's really important, though, is that with Keith's departure, Shake is getting more minutes and that's key because he will be counted on to run this team next year. I like the fact that he has a better than 2:1 assist:turnover ratio and has not shown a "score first" mentality. He's been very fortunate to play with Nic this year and we can only hope he becomes the leader Nic has been for this team.

Playing so many minutes, Shake may have hit a wall.

He's exhausted and rightfully so. One early sub or timeout, Shake meandered to bench, sat right away, and just closed his eyes, head down, like he was one his last legs. This was first half

This year is and will be so good for Shake's development. He's gonna be ready to run the show next year.

yeah it will be interesting to see how we respond with a game 46 hours later on the road-but they are college kids. Separate note-Kennedy looks like a string bean now-how many pounds has he lost? 30? 40?
