They are announcing that they are self imposing a one year ban for this year from conference and ncaa tourney.

This actually has meaning when they are projected to make the tourney.

I hate when teams "self-Impose" when they're hovering around .500

Pitino on. Wish I could hear it. Assume he is not going to take questions

Tells me that Louisville got word the NCAA is going to hammer them and this is a move begging for mercy....

What are those programs supposed to do? Wait until they have a "good" season (which could be 3-5 years later) before imposing?

ACC won't be happy as this cuts a game from their tournament. In contract, the AAC had enough time to restructure their tournament format to avoid any losses.

Under new rules post season bans should come more often. I bet the negative recruiting had already started and they wanted to cauterize the wound sooner rather than later. Interesting to see what if anything ncaa adds to it.

Why is U of L, SMU and a few others prevent from playing post season and UNC, which has had a generation of academic fraud from the Board on down is looking to improve its seed? In the scheme of NCAA violations, what UNC did is perhaps the worse and yet nothing has or will happen to that program. It is disgusting.

Smu vs Louisville, Sunday of final four weekend. Non-sanctioned, not for title event. As hoopmanX said, just like a prize fight. Pick somewhere fun and we'll meet them there.

Love it. Play the game at Moody since Pitino love the place so much. Comp him a meal at Applebee's, isn't that where his little fling took place?

Is Syracuse still under their ban? If so and if UNC would just cooperate and bite the bullet we could have our own final 4.

No, Syracuse did the self imposed ban last year after it obvious they were not going to make the tourney.

Well us and Louisville would be fun. NCAA would probably tack another year of ban on both of us but it would almost be worth it.

I would double down on this. It started hurting recruiting, and Pitino saw 4 years of damage vs. scrapping this year.
