Does Villanova have a head coach?

Postby Mexmustang » Mon Apr 04, 2016 11:01 pm

A number of us were watching the championship game tonight, when someone mentioned that the TV never showed the Villanova coach in a close up. For the hell of it, we counted the second half "pans", not once did they show their coach in a close up, it was all about Roy Williams, so much so we lost count. Most insulting was they never showed the "winners", but rather concentrated on the UNC "losers" at the end of the game. OK, Michael Jordan is great, etc. but were there not Villanova fans there? did they have a coach there? did they even field a team? A number of people yelled at the UNC fans, "18 years of academic fraud, you shouldn't have even been in the tournament"...I wonder which school they graduated from?

Yes - one great coach and a close friend of our coach.

Didn't the announcers say before the game that if you wanted UNC homer coverage
to watch TNT and if you wanted Villanova homer coverage to watch TRU TV??

Roy was straight up out coached in the second half - team was clearly rattled and he refused to call time outs or run a set play off an inbound...so much poor shot selection from UNC

Well there's the whole problem.

TV at NCAA offices only has one channel: the North Carolina "feed."

Exciting game. Announcing and officiating left a lot to be desired.

FIFY.

If you're implying that only Duke fans care about UNC's academic fraud, you are very mistaken.

Actually they were our (SMU) fans. Didn't even consider your instate rivalry. Didn't mean to imply that I was singling Duke out. Just that this year we may have the bigger beef.

No worries, thanks. I jumped to a conclusion based on what I hear out of the UNC fan base, and you are correct that UNC's shenanigans and ability to evade punishment (so far) bother me more with my SMU hat on than my Duke one.

I wonder who Larry was rooting for. A former Tar Heel, but Jay Wright is a very close friend.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
