Random post...SMU vs #17 OU - OT

I was doing a google search for Damon Hancock - don't know where he is now. This box score came up..interesting game that was vs OU. 5 players in double figures. In my opinion, this team had a pretty decent roster sans Forinash. Replace Simpson and that would be dynamite. The year of the collapse ;)

Game Story

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Nolan Johnson scored 21 points,
including two free throws with 1:20 left in overtime that gave
17th-ranked Oklahoma a 79-78 victory over Southern Methodist in
the championship game of the All-College Tournament.

The Sooners (11-1) rallied from a 10-point deficit and won this
event for the 17th time. The tournament is the oldest in the
nation, surpassing both the NCAA Tournament and NIT.

Johnson sent the game to overtime by knocking down a bank shot
with six seconds left, forging a 72-72 tie.

SMU (9-3) had chances to win at the end of regulation and the
extra period. Jeryl Sasser missed a 3-pointer to end the second
half, Quinton Ross missed another with two seconds left in
overtime and DeWayne Floyd was off on a follow shot at the final
buzzer.

Damon Hancock scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs, who have
lost two of their last three after an 8-1 start.

Kelley Newton added 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting and backcourt
mate Hollis Price chipped in 11 points and eight assists for the
Sooners. They overcame a 59-49 deficit over the final 10
minutes of regulation.

Oklahoma shot 50 percent (29-of-58) despite making only 2-of-6
shots in overtime. The Sooners were 10-of-19 from 3-point
range, making up for a 20-11 disparity from the free-throw line.

All five starters scored in double figures for SMU, which shot
under 45 percent (26-of-58) and had a 34-32 rebounding edge.
Willie Davis had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Ross scored 14
points and Floyd and Sasser contributed 13 apiece.
