Congratulations to Our New Head Coach!!

Postby Smulaw90 » Fri Jul 08, 2016 12:31 pm

Welcome Coach Jankovich! That has a nice ring to it. I was impressed with what you did with the Team to start the beginning of last year and I'm excited to see what you do going forward. This Mustang is behind you!!

Let's shed a tear, pour a 40oz beer for the memories (homies) of the past and let's get to recruiting! In the words of Buzz Lightyear--"to infinity and beyond...."

please. grow a back bone. Coaches leave all the time - and we kept this one longer than he has been anywhere just about.

I loved what he did for us also, but the guy was ancient and was offered a 4 year extension on the heels of lots of issues. He should have grabbed it and ran and retired a hero. Kind of selfish and disappointing - which is not how I would have thought he would have wanted to end this run.

Depends on if it was a 4 year extension with a pay cut. Anyway, LB is already a Hall of Fame coach so he does not need any accolades of being a hero. I wish him the best and I hope Jank can get us to a deep run in the NCAA Tournament or even win it. As someone has indicated, the 2017 recruiting will give us an indicator of where we are headed as far as talent acquisition without LB.

Janks work to pummel Michigan beyond oblivion last year was a work of art. As long as recruiting holds up, I think we have a great future

While I'm never one to give our admin and athletic department props, the Jankovich coach in waiting situation was well played. This would be a dumpster fire without having a coach in place, who knows the players, recruited a lot of them, and is well liked by all. And they knew with Larry this was always going to be a possible.

Jank is the one who recruited the players who were planning to stay for 4 years, not just hop in the bus for a year and leave. he beat out some pretty good programs in recruiting the Ausies, and the players from Oklahoma. I think he is going to do well.

Look on the bright side-Jank is definite upgrade in post-game radio interviews

So did Coach Doh. But the majority of the players on the team were recruited by LB. We will just have to see how the 2017 class ends up.
