70's Night?

Postby Spaz » Wed Dec 03, 2003 10:30 pm

Are they gonna do a 70's night promotion like they did last year? Or is it going to be something different, like 80's night? Or bring Spaz a hot date night?

'70s NIGHT! YEAH, BABY! I'M THERE! Hope I can still get in my Angel Flight disco pants and silk disco shirt! WOO HOO! Anyone else remember the club "Dallas" at the corner of Lovers Lane and Greenville? Or the #3 Lift at European Crossroads near Bachman Lake? And, of course...THE OLD CHURCH on Monday nights! :thumbupcool:

Don't you mean Lu Ann's at Greenville and Lovers?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Lu Ann's was across the street...and had seen better days before the '70s. "Dallas" was across the street in the Old Towne Shopping Center (?)...on the northeast corner. Another popular hangout in the same vicinity was Willie Nelson's Whiskey River nightclub and, who could forget the infamous Roma Motel from the 50s and 60s? (The Roma Motel was torn down to build Whiskey River...and many a fraternity boy and his favorite co-ed shed a tear! :whistling: )
