Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
Yeah and the first basket they attempt we goaltend to make a statement then drop 25 on them
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
inclined to agree. i almost think that Purdue is our doomsday scenario. swanigan has the best chance of getting us in serious foul trouble. @seagulls00
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadESPN update dropped us to a 6 and has us playing a play in game winner in Indianapolis.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
If we end up in Indy I would suggest pre-gaming at a Scottish bar downtown named after my family. Got haggis? Party at The Wopper!
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
My guess is that the committee has a 5 line and a 6 line reserved for SMU and Cincy, with the winner on the 5 line. Unfortunately there is no time to adjust otherwise as IF our game ends on time, it will be 15 minutes before the bracket is revealed. The timing of our final hurts us in my opinion. In any case, matchups much more important than seed. If we win, and get a 5, seems to me like it will be Milwaukee, Indy, Orlando or Buffalo.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadLooks like the loser will be a 6 and the winner will be a 5.
The committee is punishing us for a lack of quality wins. Part of this is bad luck that our conference doesn't have 3 really good teams this year. Also, we really need to schedule more tough out of conference games next year. A lot more! I miss Troy Matthews.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread(as of yesterday morning) #5 in West vs. KSU/Providence winner in Indianapolis

Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadPlease note that my guide through this process will be two sentences uttered by committee chair Mark Hollis when I caught up with him in January:
“The things you want to look for … are who did you play, who did you beat, and where did you play them? Those are the three most important general terms to look at.” http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/03/12/c ... o-1-seeds/
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
Well part of it can't be planned, like who would have guessed Stanford and Pitt would be terrible. And then TCU fell apart. Next year should be better with I would expect a better conference and we have the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Need to keep getting high end tournaments (fun for the players and good for SOS) I had a feeling we were going to be a 5 seed with a win and a 6 with a loss. Especially since we are 1-3 against the RPI top 50.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadCurrently 15 in RPI which if we win we should jump up a spot or two. Based on that a 5 seed would be unfortunate

Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology Thread
Couldn't have expected much from Stanford. They fired their coach and his replacement changed offensive systems, recruiting, etc. Not even Stanford alums expected them to be top 50.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadRediculous we are arguably the hottest team in the country. If we are a 6 it's criminal. 3 road losses to rpi 100 and a loss on a neutral court to the big 10 tournament champion.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadWhat do we have to do to play in Orlando that's all I want to know. MCO I know.
Re: 2016-2017 Bracketology ThreadMichigan hasn't won the Big 10 tournament championship yet. They play Wisconsin at 2pm for the championship.
