It's funny: we want UCF to go down tonight but then beat Cincy next.

I want Cinci has highly ranked as possible when we beat them again on neutral court in the AAC finals. At that point I hope we both are pushing top 10.

I Agree, I want us and CInci to win out and meet in the AAC championship. It will help both of us cause we both need to garner as much respect as we can.

If we were guaranteed to win out - I might agree with you. But I want that one game cushion on them and want us to fill the Trophy case with yet another AAC championship (We would be only team in the league to win 2 AAC Reg Season Titles). Why should we have to share with Cin?

Plus, the added bonus is that we move up in the AP and Coaches Poll one additional spot if they lose.

Basketball Logic 101 on display

You want to best chance at winning the AAC Championship-outright if possible
You want to be the No. 1 Seed in the AAC Tournament
what Cincy does is not going to affect SMU's seed near as much as SMU continuing to win and the perception of SMU as No. 1 AAC team

Screw Cincy-especially now since we got the Win at Home

For the sake of NCAA Tournament seeding, am I correct in thinking SMU and Cincy winning out until the Conference Tournament Championship Game is the best case scenario?

Best case scenario for who? For us obviously best case is winning out, dont think them winning out or only losing once would change our seed. I am with Stallion and wouldn't mind seeing Cincy slip up. They'd still be in the Top 25,it it would give us the outright conference championship, number one seed in conference tourney, and we would pass them in the minds of many people on the selection committee as the best team in the AAC. Still a Top 25 win and I doubt either of us will be top 10 by championship game, no wins that will move the needle nationally before a rematch.

Obviously both of us running the table to that point would be a good rematch, but I would rather get that one game cushion and potentially be outright conference champions. Don't think the rematch would be downgraded if they lost one game between now and then and were still ranked. They were hoping we would lose to UH last Saturday.

I guess none of you want an AAC title.
We want Cincy to lose! Then we can control our own destiny for the No. 1 seed and an outright conference title.

To me best case is we are one, Cincy two and UConn three. That way we avoid UConn at UConn unless it's in the final. Also think if UConn wins tonight they move to top 100 RPI, which would help us.

It's not that I don't want a regular season title. I would rather have the country look at our conference with having two really good Top 25 teams. IMO, I think this will help with seeding.

If Cincy slips up and drops a game in conference, I fully believe the selection committee will take that loss out on the conference and not just Cincy. To me it seems the national narrative of the AAC is SMU and Cincy are the only good teams. Since, we have only lost to each other it separates us from the rest of lackluster teams in the conference. If one of us drops a conference game, it will bring down the perception of SMU and Cincy as the only good teams.

I also think if we win out, the best seed we are getting is a 5. The selection committee has [deleted] us over year after year.

Assuming SMU/Cincy win out, I think UCF will have a better record than Memphis in the end and we end up with the 2 seed.

UCF needs to lose tonight at temple and should lose at Cincy as well.

Memphis still has to play @SMU, @Cincy, vs Coog high. Much harder schedule. Could be 3 losses right there.
