Found some info on Everett Ray that looked and sounded promising.

In four games this year has had:
23pts 13 rebs 4blcks
Kimball HS: 20 pts 10 rebs
Nolan Catholic: 20pts
Canterbury: 34 Pts

Didn't find his Summer Select ball stats. Found this write up on Ray from the Great American Shootout (big select tourney in Duncanville):
D1 Premier Elite 17’s post Everett Ray (Irving, TX. 2017): the 6’7″ kid scored heavily for his team in this tourney with an array of post moves and turn-around-jumpers from mid-range. Kid can score in many ways too, including a few behind the 3-point-line. Ray was very effective in the rebound stat column throughout this tourney. Has a nice athletic frame that is on the border of being college ready for his position. Young man is a natural leader too on and off the court.

Alamo City Hoops Tourney (All-Tournament Team)
PF Everett Ray 6’7″ 2017 (Nike D1Premier210/Trinity Christian Academy HS)
A tall, athletic power forward who showed great mobility, with the strength to bang and score down low. Consistently showed accuracy in nailing set jump shots and multiple three pointers. He went blow for blow with the taller Bassey (#1 player in 2019 class) and more than held his own as his strong frame allows him to be physical.

He will be a very good player for us. IMO, the biggest upside in our class of four. Dixon really wanted Ray at TCU.

He is as much of an unknown as Tom and McDowell. Has an odd history. I'll believe it when I see it with Ray

what's his level of competition in those HS games?

If he develops, I could see Everett starting alongside Froling in the frontcourt by 2018-19. Froling and Chargois seem a lot like the same player, whereas Everett and Froling might compliment each other better on the floor at the same time.

I agree he is a bit of an unknown, but I like that he has good write up in two select tournaments (including one really big one). I never saw one of those for McDowell and obviously Wilson never played American select. I agree w/ LA I like his ceiling.

ECM, One was against a big private school (Nolan), Kimball HS (is a 5A public where Keith Frazier went), not a clue about the other two. I agree on the fact that Chargois and Froling are somewhat similar.

Not sure why anyone doubts Ray. He's very legit, just bloomed late. Terelle Woody is his trainer and Woody knows how to prep kids for D1, beyond that he has two skills you can't teach, athleticism and a huge motor. Playing harder than the next guy is maybe the most important skill

Do you like Ray better than Chargois? I know they are different sytled bigs, but I just mean overall.

Right now, Ray. Ultimately, not sure. Chargois really has to change his body in a big way, but if he does, look out

Only because of what we are seeing with McDowell and Wilson coupled with his odd background. I wouldnt say doubt, more like cautiously optimistic. This would be a non topic if we didnt have the scholarship restricitons. Really hope you are right.

Does SMU have Chargios on a workout plan or something?

What's odd about his background? Homeschooling?

I really like Chargois game if he gets his body into shape. Great skill set, can play on the block, and is a better athlete than Froling even though they have a similar style. If him and Froling get there body's right they will be dangerous.

SMU should have a workout plan for him once his season ends and over the summer.
