Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadDammit stop it. I'm going to start crying.
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadIn a way this is very similar to Cannen and Ryan. Four year guys who do things the right way. They've all been through a lot at SMU, good and bad, but they never complained and as far as I know none ever considered leaving when times got bad. Quality young men.

Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadAmen! Love those two guys.
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation Thread00 may make some serious waves in conference this year. He does a lot of little things really well.
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadI just watched the Jank presser after the Temple game and he mentioned that Ben and Sterling will likely end up as SMU's winningest basketball players. Anyone one know who that currently is?

Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation Thread
My guess would be someone like Butch Moore or Kato Armstrong in our mid-late 80's run of 20+ game winning seasons
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadDoes this mean Wilfong is one of the winningest players in SMU history?
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadHad to go back and look it up and Brown, Moore & Wilfong will go down as SMU bball's winning most players because they have been part of the 1st SMU team in history to win more than 20 games 3 consecutive years. Sure looks like we are well on our way to 20 plus wins again this season so they have probably already passed anyone who played in the 80's or 50's when SMU teams posted consecutive 20 plus win seasons.
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadLooking at the home winning streak records my guess would be someone from the 50s. How many did Krebs win?

Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation Thread
Longest winning streak in Moody is 34 dating back to '53-'54 season. Streak ended with OT loss to Kansas 3/15/57. After that, it was 19 wins in 80's
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadThat's my point. I would guess someone playing during that era may have the most wins as a Mustang.

Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation Thread
Sterling & Ben will have far more than anyone from the Krebs era because those teams didn't win nearly as many games over a 4 year stretch and I don't think they played 4 years in those years. That home streak (regular season) was actually 44 according to this from the archives: Consecutive Home Wins Began Ended 34 1953-54, vs. Texas A&M 92-48 3-15-1957, vs. [2] Kansas 65-73 (ot) 19 2-11-1984, vs. Baylor 74-57 2-27-1985, vs. Texas Tech 54-59 15 11-11-2013 vs. Rhode Island 89-58 3-5-2014, vs. [11/9] Louisville 84-71 15 2-14-2015 vs. Connecticut 73-55 2-10-2016 vs. Tulsa, 82-77 13 1-23-1988, vs. Texas Tech 80-75 1-21-1989, vs. Houston 83-84 (ot) 13 11-20-1999, Hardin-Simmons 110-69 2-28-2000, vs. TCU 83-86 44* 1953-54, vs. Texas A&M 92-48 3-1-1958, vs. Texas A&M 42-43 * Regular Season - Lost in NCAA to [2] Kansas on 3-15-1957 - 65-73 (ot)
Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadCorrect that they did not play 4 years and that will make a big difference, but they also played games away from home so there would be several more wins to include other than just the home game streak.

Re: The Sterling Brown and Ben Moore Appreciation ThreadThe final four year we were 25-4; the season before 15-10.
So 8-12 13-9 15-10 25-4 Then after the final four year 22-4 15-10 Couldnt find rosters but that would make the four best seasons a total of 77-28. Whatever sterling and Ben were going into this year, plug it in and turn the crank Bliss best four year span 19-11 25-8 23-10 18-11 So 85-40. Butch Moore was there all four of those years. So I guess that's the # for Sterling and Ben to beat. Kato had 75 wins. His senior year was Shumates first when we won 13.
