After watching last nights game I realized that Prince Harry was like a lone elephant trying to hang with a pack of gazelles. When he came in the game it seemed we had four guys trying to adjust to his game rather than him complementing the other four. Forgetting, for a minute, about depth issues his departure should rev up the offense. On defense he was slow but we'll suffer at times from lack of space-heating inside.

All in all I think we are a better team right now without him. Had he developed over the course of the conference season I might think differently. But today.... Offense and defense look better without him.

Did our competition help our team look better?

I think the competition had a huge impact.

However, the difference in tempo following opponent missed shots was marked.

It's almost as if they didn't like changing tempos, so they always played slow. Now that the anchor is gone, they decided to run.

I'm sure it's my imagination, but it seemed like a huge difference, even against a tremendously outclassed opponent.

sorry - but you really cant tell anything from that game. Everyone looks good playing them. Number 11 needs to transfer though - he had some offense.

We will miss Harry on Monday when we get outrebounded. We will have to hit very high % on our threes to stay with bigger teams, and almost everyone is going to be bigger than us.

We have a great team, but the weaknesses will be exposed when we hit some opposing talent.

We will present match-up problems for bigger teams because most bigs won't be able to stay infront of Semi or BM on the perimeter. That should give us a lot of opportunities for dribble drive finish or dish. The problem we have will be rebounding and stopping good interior post players. I think we will win any game we shoot close to 40% from three and keep the rebound difference to single digits.

And, if we shoot more threes the rebounds on the misses come further away from the basket. That favors our long, quick lineup. We'll need very good shooting from all three areas: free throws, chippies and threes to beat the really good teams. We'll need to stay out of foul trouble and we'll need to play some effective zone. I'm sure we'll have some tough losses but it should be fun to watch.

Stanford will be an interesting game.

Yeah, they weren't good but we beat them way we were supposed to. And actually I thought that they looked better than I thought they would with kind of a new system. Looking forward to how this progresses.

We have been a MUCH better basketball team for the game and a half without Froling. Just sayin'.
