This one was out of hand early. Nice to see us keep it close.

Not to give connecticut credit, but their streak has included wins over top teams like Stanford and Tennessee and Notre Dame and Maryland and Texas and Duke. Considering the fact that they play the best of the best, and the way we started out, we did just fine today. The average margin of victory, including games against those national heavyweights, is over 38 ppg, and we lost by 40 with a first-year coach teaching his system to players who were recruited by the previous staff? After they just waxed USF by more than 60? Weird to say, but that's a good effort by our team today. Froling putting up a double-double against that team is no joke.

I saw when ESPN cut into the coverage of the end of the game. Moody looked great and full. Just another example of SMU becoming a legit basketball school. Pretty cool.

On the 13 scholarships for men. I remember the number going down from 15 years ago. I am pretty sure the reason was that too many good players would end up at top schools. By limiting it to 13 more schools could get good players and be competitive.

Time to revisit the days of the 2 way players.

I would guess that the fans were mostly just fans of women's basketball coming to see the best, not necessarily uconn fans.

True. The fans to my left were cheering for UC when they came out and when they hit shots, but cheering for SMU when they hit shots. Bunch of young girls in the group. Seemed like they were just there to see good basketball, and other than the first quarter, they did.
