Could someone please explain to me (again) the scholarship limits for next year? I thought that we only could give out 11. We have 5 returners, plus Whitt makes 6. We have signed 4 which makes 10.

Isn't that putting a lot of our eggs in one basket? Is this a reaction to our 6.2 man rotation? I guess if someone is a major bust you can get them to transfer and sign a 2018 prospect.

Are the grad transfer "targets" going to generate a buzz if it happens?

If we do sign another freshman I would hope we are super patient and wait for someone really good to fall through. If not save it for next year. We could be selective here as we already look like we are going to be much deeper next year

I was surprised to hear that possibly 18 was a no go, but nothing is absolute. Much of that would depend on who they could get now, when they become eligible etc. One thing I know for sure, they won't reach and they don't have to have a deep board to grab who they want. I've never ever seen a more shallow board to get the 4 kids we have now in '17

Which means we are getting the guys we're targeting. This staff is killing it on the recruiting trail.

There is no magic number for next year. We have to eat 4 scholarships over the next two seasons (17-18;18-19). What would seem the most balanced way to do it would be (-2) so 11 schollie players each year. Sounds like if we get the right targets (which I'm all for) we might add two players and only be (-1) 12 schollie players next year. That means we would have to eat (-3) the following year (18-19) and only have 10 schollie guys. Under this situation though, If we add 2 guys and one is a grad transfer though I would think we could still add one 2018 recruit because of the 12 from the year before 3 would graduate (Gu, Semi, & Grad Transfer) bringing us to 9. I don't see how '18 would be a complete no go unless the grad transfer had two seasons or we got a JuCo instead.

Thanks. Somewhere along the line I thought I had read that it had to be 11 and 11, not a combination.

In addition to Gu and Semi and possibly a grad transfer leaving after the '17-'18 season, there is also the possibility Shake has a monster JR season and decides to skip his senior season, so I'm confident this staff will manage the roster through our sanctions

Right now nbadraft.net has both Semi and Shake going in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft. Semi at #37 and Shake at #50.

Little Jank in 2018 fits nicely. Top 20 Player in Tex, & doesn't count toward the limit

id think Lil Jank is a nice '18 addition, as well. Doesn't cost a thing, adds depth and a shooter that will eventually see run. Like several have said, sorta tough to pick where attrition will come from, but IF we find 2 this Spring, take'm

If you've got 2 quality players in 17 that want to come here, take em. Jank in 18, & hopefully Timme & 1 more in 19 works for me.

Let's remember the recent past. Sed and Towelboy bailed last year followed by Abbot and Costello this year.
