Source??

There has been nothing recent in the local papers.

The Boneyard has been crying for this all season. It's big talk up in Storrs.

Man UCONN is just one big joke. I never seen so many excuses for their crap performance. Even when they got the national title in 2014, they lost to us both at home and on the road.

The American is weaker in women's basketball and that hasn't hurt Geno Auriemma's program. The men are losing in basketball due to general incompetence. It has nothing to do with conference affiliation. If recruiting were an issue then maybe you could blame conference affiliation.

Regardless of what UConn does, I would like to see Wichita State as a basketball-only member. Good for RPI and closer than the league members east of the Mississippi.

Is American money that different than Big East money now? I can't find any good sources.

Well then it makes a bit more sense even though Connecticut would be giving up any chance of ever going P5.

I say let them leave for the BE and leave their other programs in the AAC under one condition....

The BE will have a tough time getting as good a contract next time. Georgetown is mediocre. Villanova is good. Marquette is good. But the rest are forgettable. Not much different from AAC.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

tough time? in all of sports if you had to vote on one thing, it would be the BE contract going down in value next time it comes up. THey are on very borrowed time.

One of the biggest problems the AAC has is that it seems almost all our members want to move on to other conferences. I get the P5 football revenue desire, but as others have commented, basketball recruiting doesn't seem to be the issue at UConn. This "higher profile Big East" argument is a joke. If UConn wants to play those schools, I doubt they would have any trouble filling their non-conference slate with Big East schools. They could have at least beaten Georgetown, who last time I checked was sitting at the bottom of the Big East

Uconn fans want to play those teams because -> traditional rivals. SMU could be Top 25 and they really wouldn't care.

While P5 football would be nice to have, the Uconn fans I work with care about basketball and football is an afterthought.
