All-AAC Teams

Not sure if anyone has hypothesized about this elsewhere, but I was going through the thought experiment of how big a homer I'd have to be to think we'd have four all-conference players. This is what I roughly sketched out, curious what y'all think if the season ended today:

First team:
Ojeleye - SMU
Moore - SMU
Gray - UH
D Lawson - Memphis
Washington/Clark - Cincy

Second team:
Washington/Clark - Cincy
Milton - SMU
Brown - SMU
Adams - UConn
Alston - Temple

Honorable mention:
Dotson - UH
Purvis - UConn
Evans - Cincy

Notable exceptions:
Etou - Tulsa
Caupain - Cincy
K Lawson - Memphis
Reynolds - Tulane
Taylor/Williams/Fall - UCF

The only one that might be (is probably?) a stretch in the eyes of an impartial observer is Sterling over Dotson. But I couldn't get past the fact that Sterling is top 10 in rebounds, assists, steals, and 3PT% in conference, averaging 13 a game, and is due for some kind of lifetime achievement on a team that has dominated during his four years.

I'm also assuming that four years has given people enough time to see that Ben Moore is a top-three defensive player in the league, combined with his offensive rebounding/passing/finishing abilities.

FWIW, the all-rookie team this year should be pretty easy:

Sheppard - ECU
Vital - UConn
Rose - Temple
Da Silva - USF
Cumberland - Cincy

Ben Moore at first team is the big stretch. I doubt he even earns second team honors.

If so that is a true shame. SMU defense is run through Ben.

I don't disagree it's a stretch. But someone has to be on the first team, and just from observing other teams' boards/press/coaches, he's the guy everyone wants to race to point out as the most underrated player in the conference.

The key would be if UConn closes out strong, then Adams probably takes that spot in the first team.

Sorry, Ben Moore has no shot at making first team.

Sadly I agree. He is 4th on the team in scoring and despite his good rebounding numbers he will be 2nd team or HM.

Semi (1st team and POY) Between him and Lawson
Shake (2nd)
Sterling (2nd, unless he explodes last 4 games)
Moore (HM, 2nd, if he explodes)

1st team I would say you have to have Jalen Adams #7 in PPG and leads the conference in APG.

yeah - he would have to be averaging a lot more points to get their attention - which is criminal, but likely
