Dedric Walking Out of Memphis

Local reports says he doesn't believe he will be drafted, but prefers the D League to another season as a Tiger. Does this mean his brother K.J. transfers? Will his dad keep his six figure job at the end of the Memphis bench? Does Tubby miss Lubbock? Enquiring minds want to know.

What a [deleted] show! Apparently we can't expect Memphis High to bounce back as a competitor at the top of the AAC. Seems like they will start having to fight to be mediocre.

This news could possibly help with Semi's POY campaign.

That is brutal for Memphis. Hopefully for them they hang onto KJ, because he is pretty good and their little brother is supposed to be a stud. Sounds like a situation where he probably isn't going to class and just has no more interest in college ball, since they aren't any good or making the tourney.

Never have been a big fan of Dedric. He has a ton of potential but there doesn't seem to be a lot of fight in the dog.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech has knocked off #6 Florida State, #9 UNC, and #14 Notre Dame...

Wonder if they are starting to miss Josh.

PonyTime,
Pastner's first year has been interesting for sure. I still don't think the guy is a good X and o coach but he can recruit and energize a program.

SMUer,
I don't think any of our conference mates have wondered if we will have to fight to mediocre. I get that we have had issues - postseason ban and coaching change but since the beginning of the AAC, we have been the most consistantly good program in the league: 2013-14 tied for 3rd, 2014-15 champs, 2015-16 2nd and 2016-17 currently in 1st.

I tend to think Tubby was a good hire for them.

That being said the notion that SMU, of all schools, could walk into Memphis and pick up the best SG in the city from right under their noses would have been laughable three years ago.
