I actually expected the second team to be the first team with Semi in place of Ben. Cannot believe 2 Houston an no Cincy not to mention our other ponies.

Would have been nice to have two on the first team, but still impressive to have four of the top eleven players in the conference in the eyes of the coaches.

I imagine Cincinnati is bonkers about not having anybody on the first team.

PPG is a big thing for teams like this and grey and Dotson have that. That said I don't think there is a single coach in the league that if you offered the choice of pick one player from gray shake or Dotson that wouldn't pick shake.

Had there been less overall talent, SMU would have had more players on the first team. Voters no doubt were reluctant to put 4 Mustangs on the All-AAC team and their votes, after Semi, were distributed between Ben, Sterling, and Shake.

When do they announce POY (Semi) and 6th Man of the Year (Gu)?

In the article:

The conference's Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Sixth Man Award and Sportsmanship Award will be announced on Wednesday. The American Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced at a press conference on Thursday, March 9 at the XL Center at 12:30 p.m. ET.

So I would think there is a strong case to be made from a basketball perspective that foster deserves most improved. Does rookie mean freshman? In not semi should win that and poy.

Also interesting note as I loOk over statistics, all five of our starters have had games of scoring 19+ points. Pretty sure that no other team can say that. That hurts in things like first team.

LOL a guy who average 4.5 PPG and 2.7 RPG is not getting 6th man of the year. Yes he plays nice defense, but stats matter.

Markus average 9.3 and 6.3 when he won it.

Relax, this is an individual performance reward. The "First Team All AAC" will look nice under their name as they show a picture of them in the stands during the Conference Finals or during the tournament.

Cam Reynolds at Tulane will get most improved. He averaged like 6.5 PPG last year and like 17PPG this season. Also, Tacko would be pretty high on the list as well.

Pretty crappy that there is no HM mention team this year. Like every conference, but ours has one. I would have put Shake and Clark on 1st team with Lawson, Gray and Semi. Then Dotson, Sterling, Ben, Evans, Adams, and Washington on 2nd team.
