So only Houston and UCF got NIT bids and are on opposite sides of the bracket. For the good of the AAC, I would sure like to see both of them advance to MSG

Boise State is in the NIT as well. All four of our losses were to eventual post season teams. And TCU made it. Too bad they folded during the season or that would have been a quality win.

As a life-long SMU fan I can truthfully say that mini-run success we had in the CIT was one of my most enjoyable SMU athletic moments in some 20 years (1990-2010).

Just tells you how far we have come in BB.

I'm a little surprised that Memphis is not playing in either the CBI or CIT. May have been invited and turned it down as being beneath them?

I remember watching us play Oral Roberts in either the the CIT or CBI in front of an empty arena. That was when Papa Dia was playing.

The women's side of the AAC was much improved this year and it is reflected in the 3 NCAA and 3 NIT bids. I think only Tulsa had a losing non-conference record. Solid first season for coach Mays.

It was still an exciting time for the few of us that followed SMU hoops in that time frame

Was that 6 or 7 years ago? I was there, but with all the good (and some bad) stuff that's happened since, it seems like a very long time ago.

I remember way back when we soldout three straight games hosting the NIT. Magical time. I wonder if TCU will get 3,000 in the building to watch their opener?

TCU won't have even 2k there. Those NIT games were some of the loudest games I can remember at Moody. LSU and Cal specifically. Fun times with an us against the NCAA corruption mentality.

Yeah that was 2011. Seems silly now but it sure was a lot of fun then!
