That is us vs TCU this year. Personally I choose the NCAA because it means our overall year was better but TCU is still playing and we have recently felt that joy.

I think it's important to consider where the program is at in its build. Where we were when we went to the NIT and where TCU is is similar, and for programs in that stage I think making an NIT run is better. Once you've been a tourney program for a few years, though, I think the NIT is a step back even compared to a first round exit.

Yup.

Fun but ancient history. At this point in time anything less than making the big show is most likely considered short of what the program aims for.

That's not to say we would not accept an NIT invite.... just weighing it vs an NCAA appearance.

Even with the second first round loss last week and despite all that has transpired since the LB hiring/Moody reno this season has to be considered as another (4th consecutive) year of program growth.

If we are good enough to make the NCAA next year, I wouldn't mind an 11 seed and playing in that first four group, moving on to play a 6 seed if we win. Otherwise, I'd like to play in the NIT if we could get a 1 seed and play home games for the opportunity to advance to MSG

WTF we have reached the point where the NIT does nothing for us.
It was the right tournament at the right time in 2014.

It must be raining or the theme parks are closed this evening, because there's an actual full house at UCF.

Looks like another great atmosphere in Arlington tonight.

Game tied 7-7 at the first media timeout.
