Before you sentence me to death, let me clear this up. I think we win the AAC again next year...my intention was to try to predict what the various 'experts' will do when they try to guess where we will be.

Way to early to be relegating us to 3rd if Semi returns. He is the reigning AAC Player of the Year. We also would return our PG who is averaged over 13-4.5 in his first year at the point. And Foster who averaged 9.9PPG and has a super high ceiling. That core 3 would be better than any core 3 in the conference.

For us there are just lots of question marks outside of that. Like how good will Jimmy Whitt be, how well will McMurray fit in, will we find a serviceable grad-transfer, will one or multiple of the frosh be ready or exceed expectations. If two of those go well we will be STACKED. Regardless, If Semi is back, it would be foolish in my mind to think we can't win the AAC again.

I agree. And while I have my reservations about McMurray's fit due to his run and gun play style, he knew we were an organization that values sharing the ball and team play before he transferred. I'm hoping he will work hard to fit in, we all know his talent is through the roof.

Also, anyone relegating us to 3rd next season w semi back, needs electro shock therapy. We aren't going anywhere and the conference title runs through us, as it has last 4 years , much of the time

They were 2-3 according to ESPN's RPI. Also, they beat Tulsa by 27 at home if you're curious how they did against an AAC team.

I was looking at Sagarin, but ok let's look at the ESPN RPI, which I don't believe was updated to include the final game SMU and WSU played before the Tourney. They were 2-4 (not 2-3) against the Top 50 where we were 2-3. They beat Tulsa by 27 at their place? We beat Tulsa by 23. And we were ranked many spots above WSU in the last RPI rankings, SMU tied for #15 and WSU #31.

I'm not trying to downplay adding the Shockers. I think it's fantastic. They were pretty salty in the dance for sure and have a great history. Just adding some data.

SOURCE: Wichita State has been unanimously voted into the AAC, pending final paperwork the Shockers are in.

The first SMU v Wichita St. game should be fun

Champ v Champ

kind of like a reunification bout in Boxing

Now there are two teams in the conference who can give them the shocker.

Good news re: scheduling
http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0642023356912111799-4

The AAC will stay with 18 conference games; 4 1-plays 7 home/homes with the addition of Wichita State.

Let's hope for our sake those "1's" are Tulane, ECU, USF and Memphis (who I think will be awful this next year).

Wichita State will be ranked higher than SMU to start next season, even if Semi returns. We just added a huge team to our conference and they want to actually be here. This is very exciting!
