So as of now with the incoming from SMU will have about 8 scholarship players to start next season.

Four returnees, four frosh....

Nine counting McMurray and ten if we get a grad transfer big.

10-4. So to start the season 8 eligible and if we get a grad transfer 9. I think we will get some type of grad transfer.

Bowl4us should know it will be nine with the grad transfer. Then ten mid December when McMurray joins the team. Go SMU.

So depending on whether we land an additional graduate transfer or not our most up to date roster management should be as follows:

17/18 (11-12 scholarships)
FR Landrum, Ray, Chargois, Douglas, Mike
SO Whitt
JR Foster, Milton, McMurray
SR Emelogu, Agau

18/19 (10-11 scholarships)
FR anywhere from 0-4 depending on how many we use in 17/18 and attrition
SO Landrum, Ray, Chargois, Douglas, Mike (probably lose one to attrition)
JR Whitt
SR Foster, McMurray, Milton, Agau

What's the status of the scholarship penalties?

We still owe 4 over the next 2 seasons. If we stay put then we owe 2 the following season. If we add another graduate transfer then we owe 3 in 18/19.

Jank and the staff have really handled the sanctions crap well. I can still remember when the sanctions and tourney ban got announced everyone said it was the end of SMU hoops...not so fast, my friend!

2018-19 could be a real fun lineup, too (and I'm assuming Shake takes his game to another level this season and gets drafted):

Agau
Mike
Jarrey
Whitt
McMurray

With the four freshman from this 2017 class on the bench and one or two newcomers (depending on if we take another grad transfer for this season)

Another thing about our recruiting that really has me impressed is the quality of the recruits. Reading Agau's comments it becomes clear he is a very intelligent young man. Semi, Shake, Jarrey, Ben E are all mild mannered and well-spoken. With out mentioning any names (or towels) it wasn't too long ago when most of our players interviewed answered every question asked with "well....uh...you know." Hopefully APR issues become a thing of the past.

ECM that 18-19 starting five could be scary good. I think if McMurray comes in and lights it up after December there is a chance he will flirt with the draft. If that happens you would have Landrum at point, who the coaches absolutely love. It's funny because everyone keeps waiting for the collapse of SMU basketball but they going to keep waiting because our future rosters could and should be stronger than ever.

Landrum or Douglas. I think Douglas has the highest ceiling of anyone in this class. I doubt McMurray goes pro after this year (although he did flirt with the draft after his freshman season); he's undersized and was mostly a volume scorer in his only full season at USF. Plus he'll be competing for minutes with Shake and Whitt.

Pretty awesome that we are talking about a lineup that is scary good after Shake leaves. Not that long ago I was shocked a recruit ranked that high would come to SMU. Now I'm shocked when good players DONT pick us

Can we really count Agua for 2018-2019? Doesn't he need ncaa okey dokey for a 6th season?
