Houston just added F Cedrick Alley. (Had offers from A&M and Tech). Played for Houston Hoops and had a good senior year. Nice get for them to go with Fabian White. Neither are very big around 6'6-6'7, but athletic good players.

Tacko Fall just declared for the NBA Draft, without an agent like Semi did.

Also, looks like we will be hearing what Dedric Lawson is going to do in about an hour or so. Should be interesting because might give a read on if KJ will be back or not.

Both transferring. Shocking. Heard it was all about their dad wasn't wanted by Tubby and they never made the tourney/weren't utilized correctly.

Wouldn't be shocked for their pops to leverage his way onto a coach staff (as a bench coach) with those two and the promise of his next two sons.

Didn't Dedrick already say he was gone? The way he did it I got the impression he quit going to classes also which I believe is an APR problem even if drafted.

He hadn't officially said anything, but was MIA after the season. There were reports at the end of the season saying he was for sure gone.

Some poor souls over on the Memphis boards trying to rationalize how this is good news, because the Lawson's obviously don't want to be there... even if true you don't lose your best player (and top 5 player in the conference) ALONG WITH your 3rd leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder and that be GOOD news.

Memphis might be in the cellar with ECU, Tulane and USF next year. They now likely have a 2-3 year rebuild in front of them, unless they get some MAJOR talent influx and still likely a year or two rebuild. Sucks for the AAC.

I'm not optimistic that Memphis will add much to the conference for the next couple of years at least. I don't see Tubby as the kind of guy who will suddenly cook up a killer recruiting class.

I would not totally count Coach Smith out. He turned Tech around in about 3 years or so.

@JonRothstein
Temple too. Owls are a Top-40 team if Josh Brown is healthy.

Wow, epic meltdown in Memphis. Makes UConn look stable.

With the dumpster fire that Coach Pastner left it will probably take Coach Smith at least a couple of years to straighten things out.

Losing to Memphis might fall into the "bad loss" category for any NCAA tourney resume

Good news for Temple and the AAC.

@JonRothstein
Josh Brown back on the court for Temple. Owls are an NCAA contender next year if he's healthy.
